BARIATRIC BAGELS

I love these no-flour, low carb “bariatric bagels.” They even have a bread-like texture. These everything bariatric bagels are delightful open-faced with a schmear of low-fat scallion cream cheese or even regular reduced fat cream cheese. These tasty treats a easy to make, require very little prep work and are ready in just 15-20 minutes. They’re also a great snack to stash when you’re on the run and need a little protein boost. Make, bake, taste! Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups reduced-fat cheese of your choice; a low-fat or light 3-cheese blender works beautifully

  • 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

  • 3 eggs

  • 3-5 tbsp Everything Bagel Seasoning such as Trader Joe’s Everything But the Bagel blender (available online)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheese, grated parmesan, and eggs in a large bowl.

3. Mix ingredients well, folding until fully combined

4. Spray a silicone doughnut mold sheet lightly with non-stick cooking spray; evenly distribute the cheesy mixture into 6 portions in the pan.

5. Liberally sprinkle the seasoning to your liking - I use a lot. After the first batch, you’ll have a good idea of how much to use. Start with 3 TBSP and use up to 5 TBSP.

6. Bake at 375* for 15-20 minutes. Let cool and taste your treat!
