A food knowledge sharing community with the bariatric population in mind.

I started my journey almost 9 years ago. I have a Lap Band. I lost 115 pounds, going from a size 22 to a 00. While Lap Bands are being phased out or revised, largely because of frustrating results, weight regain and unmanageable side effects, even when there are no complications the best exception is to lose 60% of the excess weight. I lose the rest because of my surgeon’s ethos; bariatric surgery is a tool, not a crutch.

I changed my entire diet, cutting out sugar and lost the rest. It is hard to make massive changes to your diet, especially if you eating habits have not been a model of healthful living. It is even harder with restrictions that come with a bariatric procedure.

I am Cordon Bleu-Paris trained and I work as a private chef; I am close to earning my RD.

This is a forum for people looking for healthy recipes sensitive to their dietary restrictions, with a focus on higher-protein, lower-carb foods as well as a resource of tried and tested tips 9 years post-surgery.

Please reach on on the “Contact Me” section with any questions about the recipes, nutrition, or other relevant (or irrelevant) queries and concerns.
